The weapon MK 103 was a heavy machine gun with the calibre 30 mm, which has been developed by the German company Rheinmetall-Borsig during WW II designed as armament for fighting planes. However, at the late stages of war, some of these weapons also have been mounted on simplified sockets and used with the nickname „Baumaffe“. When having a look on the gunner in action, it is immediately clear, why this nickname has been used.
